Machine Shop Operative

To meet the continued growth of the business, you will need to set up and operate a variety of machines including, cnc routers, lasers, diamond polishers, pin routers and saws. Be able to produce parts according to the drawings. You must be able to work abiding by the Health and Safety regulations

Duties and responsibilities 

• Check materials are correct before cutting
• Operate machines as instructed
• Check parts to drawings using verniers, rulers and tape measures
• Monitor machines to ensure they are running correctly, safely and efficiently with minimal downtime
• Work to the job sheet and drawings to produce the correct number of parts needed to the highest quality
• Maintain housekeeping in machine shop  
• Apply a knowledge of materials and machining procedures
• Team player
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Be willing and able to learn
• A “can do” attitude

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Able to read drawings
• Good communication skills
• Good understanding of machining and quality control
